Cappadocia is the ancient and modern name of a remarkable region in Central Anatolia. The name of Cappadocia is believed to come from the Persian language (Catpa-tuka: The land of beautiful horses). When the volcanoes in the region were active millions of years ago, the lava which poured out covered all previously formed hills and valleys, forming a high plateau. This newly formed plateau consists mainly of tuff (soft rock) and some rare layers of basalt (hard rock). The destruction of the tuff and the basalt layers by erosion (heavy rains and melting snow) and sharp temperature changes has continued for thousands of years and is still in process today.

The most famous museum in the area houses many cave-churches with painted frescoes. It was carved out by early Christian monks between 600 and 1200 AD.
The highest point of the rocky region, you can see the amazing landscape and the towns of Cappadocia in the distance, such as Goreme and Avanos. Underground City - a complex of joint caves built by the Christians to hide under from possible attack ground. Each space is organized around ventilation shafts. The tunnels and under-ground rooms were used as storage areas, stables, wine cellars, living areas and cave churches. Lunch at a local restaurant.
On the banks of the Red River, it is famous for its pottery and painted tiles of Turkey. You can see pottery being made, including the old techniques, and even try your hand on the potter's wheel.
The best place to see three-headed fairy chimneys. Pasabag is surrounded by incredible natural rock formations - a spectacular sight. Devrent Valley or Imagination Valley has a lunar landscape and animal shaped pink rocks. Transfer to Kayseri airport. Evening flight or bus back to Istanbul.
