Manavgat
Manavgat, located in the Antalya Province of Turkey, is known for its stunning natural beauty, including the Manavgat River and its famous waterfalls. However, the region also has a rich history dating back to ancient times. The earliest records of the Manavgat region can be found in Hittite cuneiform tablets, which mention the presence of the Akhhiyawa people (Mycenaeans) in the area around 1600-1200 BC. Later, the region was part of the ancient region of Pamphylia and came under the rule of various empires, including the Persians, Alexander the Great, the Romans, and the Byzantines.
