Kemer
The region surrounding, Kemer was once part of ancient Lycia, a civilization known for its independent spirit and unique rock-cut tombs. Echoes of this past can be found in the nearby ruins of Olympos and Phaselis, ancient Lycian cities that offer a glimpse into a bygone era. Olympos, with its lush forest setting and secluded beach, is particularly evocative, while Phaselis boasts well-preserved ruins including an ancient theater and aqueduct.
Kemer's modern history began in the early 20th century, when it was a small rural village. However, the development of tourism in Turkey transformed Kemer into a popular destination for visitors from around the world. Today, Kemer is renowned for its pristine beaches, turquoise waters, and verdant pine forests that cascade down to the sea.
